From what I gathered is 2h axe is a direct upgrade. Chops at same speed, and if you have 40+ run energy it'll activate the boost. The treats don't seem too bad to maintain, a 25% chance to get a leaf and uses 1 cooked meat (possibly fish?) For 3 treats. The meat is easy to come by and is cheap. I know they want to avoid changing things already in the game up too much but what would make the most sense (IMO) is that 1h axes fulfill the role that they're planning for 2h axes - that is, longer cut times for more XP.
